BENDLE FUNERAL HOME He was the son of George W. and Kate Caswell Babcock.
He was born in Troy, Michigan on April 18, 1865. Mr. Babcock spent a large
portion of his younger years in Holly. He was an expert photographer and
ran a gallery in Holly, later engaging in the same business in Pontiac,
Michigan and still later at Glen Falls, N.Y. He was a member of the
Baptist church, and the pastor, Rev. F. A. Burnett will conduct the
funeral services. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mattie E. (Hurst) Babcock
and one sister, Mrs. Carrie (Babcock) Jarrad. This was taken from his
obituary dated June 4, 1942. It was cut out of the newspaper so I can't

Carl Bethke Brighton, Livingston Co., Michigan Carl Bethke youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bethke, underwent an operation for appendicitis at the Brighton hospital the past week. He passed away there Wednesday night. He was a member of the Class of '26 of the Holly High School, and besides his parents leaves 2 brothers. Funeral Sunday at 2:30 at the Baptist church. He was born June 6, 1907. Rachel Sarah Wise was born in Tuscola Co., Michigan, April 15, 1868, the daughter of John and Sarah Wise. Spending part of her childhoodin that community, she moved to Rose Township when about 13 years of age and has been a continuous resident of Rose and Holly Townships since that time. She was married to Albert W. Bethke, also of Rose, on March 27, 1892. To this union were born three sons, Charles, now of Red Oak, Michigan, Otto of Holly, Michigan and Carl, who preceded her in death, having died April 13, 1927, at age of 19. Besides her sons, she leaves an only grandson, Fred Bethke, of Holly, and one sister, Mrs. George Feele, of Linden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holly and of the Ladies" Auxiliary, Holly Post, in whose circles she had been very active. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church of Holly at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, preceded by a prayer service at the family residence. Rev. F. A. Burnett officiated and burial was on the family lot in Lakeside Cemetery. Obituary was cut out of paper so I don't know which paper printed it.
